It happens to almost anyone who writes and that is that dreaded feeling of not being able to think of a think to write, no matter what you do you just can't seem to find a single thought in your head to put down on paper. This of course is commonly known as writers block. When this happens you sometimes feel like you've lost all the joy that you had just the other day when you wrote your last article. There are ways in which you can overcome writers block and one of those ways is communing with nature. You don't have to go very far to do that either. If you happen to have a garden in your front or back yard, there is plenty out there in that personal space that should bring back your inspiration to write.
So, grab a pen and some paper, or if you have a laptop grab that and head out for the garden. Make sure you have a comfortable chair to sit in while you are out there. Take your stuff and your chair and find a nice comfortable spot in your garden where you can sit and relax. If that means sitting in the grass then do that instead.
You will need to arrange where you are sitting so that you have the best view of your garden that you can possibly get. The whole idea is let your garden fill your senses so that you can get inspired. So it's important that you are sitting somewhere you can see most of your garden from where you are.
Once you have found that ideal spot you need to sit yourself down and either open up your laptop or grab your pen and paper to make sure that you have them handy when the inspiration hits you. As you sit there make sure that you close your eyes for a few minutes and then take some deep breaths while your eyes are shut. After you have done that slowly open you eyes and begin looking around your garden. Notice all the flowers, the different plants and the different stages of life they might be in. Listen for the sound of birds and different insects as they go on their merry way. Let the breeze flow across your face and enjoy every moment of it.
Allow all of your senses to take in all of what nature has to offer you right in your own yard. Allow your senses to truly hear, feel and smell your surroundings. Once you start feeling relaxed and in tune with your garden you should begin writing and let your senses guide you where they want.
You should start writing about what you see, all that you smell and all of the sounds that are around you at that moment. Write about how you feel about sitting in silence in the space that you chose. Write about how the flowers and plants make you feel as you glance at them. Let yourself enjoy the surroundings and just write. Don't worry about editing it, this is simply an exercise to help unblock your writers block.
