How to Write a Science Fiction Article or Short Story

If you love to write and have been thinking about trying your hand at writing a science fiction article or short story you are choosing a genre that is extremely diverse. With this kind of a story you are able to explore not only the future but you can examine different issues dealing with identity, society and other issues and you can do it with a far sharper focus than you can with realistic fiction. It also can be a great source of entertainment for the reader as well. Below are a few tips on how to get started.

Of course the first thing you are going to want to do is to ask yourself why you want to write the story. As yourself is there some futuristic world in which you been thinking about or is there some wild plot building inside your head? Is this going to be about technological issues or more social issues that you are going to explore? Do you just have ideas for one very interesting character that needs his story told or is this going to be just a fun and creative adventure story? While you are doing all of this write down all the things that come to mind so that you can use your notes to help you formulate your story later.

After you have your notes written down you will need to come up with your characters. You will need to name each one, describe them physically, come up with personalities for each, give them names and write down what their relationships are with one another. The next thing you need to do is to figure out what is going to happen in the story and who of all the characters is going to be the protagonist. What is the protagonist trying to do or trying to get? You will also need to jot down all of your main plot points for your story.

You then need to go onto to describing the setting that your story takes place in. Is the world like ours or is it some alien world? You need to figure out what kind of details your readers will need to have so that the story will make sense to them. You will need to come up with good descriptive images so that the story will come to life.

After you have done all of this you can start your first draft. When you are doing this and discover that something doesn't seem to work then just skip it. If you get stuck in a certain area of the story just move onto something else for the time being. At this point, you can make your first draft as long or as short as you want, you just need to get through it so that you have something to work with.

When you are done with your first draft you need to walk away from it for at least a few days. You may even want to stay away from it for a couple of weeks. You need to get some distance from it before you reread it.

Before you reread your first draft it's a good idea to read your notes first. This way when you reread your story you will see whether or not you left anything out that you may have needed that you found written in your notes. When you reread the story you should take notes on the story itself and critique how you think it came out. You should see if you accomplished your main goal. Did you write something totally different but it's still good? Are there things you missed or things that simply don't feel like you were clear enough on?

After you have made the notes on your first draft it's time to rewrite your story. Fix things that don't make sense and make them clearer. If there is something that is weird or strange in the story that needs more explanation then it's time to change it in the rewrite. This is not the point in writing your story to be worrying about spelling or grammar, right now all you want is for the story to make sense.

When you have added, deleted and fixed things to make more sense or to add more detail where needed , you can then go and polish the story and fine tune it with improving the dialog and fixing all spelling and grammar errors. Once you are done with that, you're set and ready to go.

Many people think that when they hear the Federal Reserve Chairman make a monetary policy change with the Prime rate, it automatically affects interest rates. Not so. The Prime rate increase or decrease may affect a Home Equity Line of Credit (HELOC), but it wouldn't affect interest rates. Interest rates also fluctuate with the various loan programs available to the borrower. www.forexsignals.es
